The Silent Worshipper
Every sunday I sit with my friends during praise and worship. Most sundays I end up next to my friend, Ben. I'm still not sure what happened as a child, but Ben lost his voice when he was very young. He gets along pretty well with those who take the time to understand him (once you do, its just like other people talking). Ben has a great heart for worship. I began to think about weeks ago, "What does Ben's voice sound like to God?" Thinking in the physical, he hears grunts and murmurs. Thinking in the spiritual, he hears a song greater than any we could imagine, because Ben worships from deep within. God hears beyond our beautiful (and not so beautiful) voices, our appearances, our fronts that we place before other people to feel important or show a flase confidence. God listens to our hearts - to the cries and pleas of what dwells deep within us. The best part is He will respond in kind. I know that we will be restored when we meet up with Him in heaven, and I hope to run into Ben and hear the voice that always cried out to Him and that He loves so much.
